Supermarkets Offer Return Vouchers to CDC Voucher Users

Several supermarkets in Singapore are providing return vouchers to encourage customers to utilize their Community Development Council (CDC) vouchers for their purchases. The most recent tranche of CDC vouchers, designed to assist households in managing the challenges of living costs, was introduced on Friday, January 3.

NTUC FAIRPRICE

NTUC FairPrice announced that for every S$60 spent in CDC supermarket vouchers in a single transaction at any FairPrice store, customers will receive a S$6 return voucher. This offer is valid until January 12, with no minimum spend requirement. Customers can use multiple return vouchers in a single transaction, and the return vouchers will be usable from the day after issuance until February 28.

According to FairPrice’s CEO, Mr. Vipul Chawla, this initiative aims to commemorate SG60 and support Singaporeans in accessing essential daily staples for fulfilling lives.

COLD STORAGE AND GIANT

Similarly, Cold Storage and Giant are offering a S$6 return voucher to customers who spend a minimum of S$60 in CDC vouchers at their supermarkets. Customers will also receive 600 points in their “yuu” loyalty program. This promotion is available until January 9, with no minimum spend required for return voucher use. However, only one return voucher can be used per transaction, and they will be valid for redemption until January 17.

PRIME SUPERMARKET

At Prime Supermarket, customers must spend a minimum of S$80 in CDC vouchers to receive a S$5 return voucher. This promotion will run until January 16, and customers can use their return vouchers from January 4 to January 17, with restrictions on items such as alcohol, cigarettes, infant milk powder, and lottery tickets.

CDC VOUCHER REDEMPTION

The CDC vouchers are available for digital redemption at go.gov.sg/cdcv. One household member can claim the vouchers on behalf of the household using their Singpass account. The vouchers are valid until December 31, 2025, and after claiming, the claimant will receive a unique voucher link via SMS from “gov.sg.” This link is shareable with other household members, and a list of participating businesses can be found at go.gov.sg/cdcvouchers.

The CDC voucher scheme, initiated in June 2020, aims to aid lower-income households in managing living costs and supporting hawkers and heartland merchants impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
