men-charged-for-forging-documents-to-deceive-singapore-prison-service

In a bizarre turn of events, two fellas got themselves in a bit of a pickle in Singapore. Kiew Khie Leong, a 35-year-old dude, is facing a couple of counts of forgery, while Tan Sin Liang, who’s 62, is looking at one count for allegedly helping out with the forgery shenanigans. The Singapore Police Force spilled the beans that these two blokes were working for different subcontractors tied up with a term contractor for some mechanical and electrical works. The whole shebang was part of a project under the Singapore Prison Service, but they kept the deets of the project hush-hush in the court docs.

Kiew, who hails from Malaysia, supposedly whipped up a total of 11 fake quotations from two other contractors back in 2019. From January 23 to December 5 of that year, he apparently cooked up five quotes using the letterheads of DRK Construction and six more using the letterheads of Pro-Wire Engineering, all without the thumbs-up from the higher-ups. Kiew didn’t say much and his case got pushed back for him to get a lawyer. They’re gonna chat about it again on June 6. On the other hand, Tan, a Singaporean chap, is being accused of prodding his admin peeps to knock up three phony documents under the Beryllus letterheads to try and pull a fast one on the SPS. This allegedly went down between January 24, 2018, and December 4, 2020. Tan ain’t owning up to it and they’re gonna hash it out in a pre-trial conference on June 25. If these two end up getting convicted, they could be looking at up to four years behind bars and a hefty fine for each charge. Yikes!
