Louis Vuitton x Takashi Murakami Collaboration Returns at Singapore Pop-Up

Louis Vuitton has once again joined forces with renowned Japanese pop artist Takashi Murakami to unveil a new rendition of the iconic Monogram Multicolore. The Louis Vuitton x Murakami Chapter One made its debut on January 1, marking a significant moment in the world of art and luxury fashion.

A pioneer in the realm of art and fashion collaborations, Louis Vuitton set the stage for this trend back in the noughties by partnering with esteemed artists like Yayoi Kusama, Stephen Sprouse, Richard Prince, and Jeff Koons. Among these collaborations, the bond between Louis Vuitton and Takashi Murakami stands out as one of the most successful and enduring.

The story of this iconic partnership began when then-artistic director Marc Jacobs encountered Murakami’s vibrant artworks at an exhibit and invited the artist to reimagine Louis Vuitton’s classic monogram print. This collaboration led to the birth of a kaleidoscopic reinterpretation of the renowned brown monogram, featuring 33 vibrant colors that graced the runway in the spring of 2003, captivating fashion enthusiasts worldwide.

To celebrate this iconic re-edition, Singapore has been chosen as one of six global cities to host a special pop-up experience. Located in a historic shophouse in Joo Chiat, the Louis Vuitton x Murakami pop-up promises a colorful and imaginative journey into the collaborative universe, infused with a touch of Peranakan heritage.
